With more than half a century of building trust with our clients, we work as a team to make thoughtful, research-driven decisions to deliver investment returns in excess of market indices.

Ours is an intellectually curious and collaborative culture built on stability and consistency – in our people, process and performance.

We value wisdom and patience above all other qualities when making investments. We reject emotionally driven decisions and focus instead on qualities exhibited by superior companies operating in attractive industries. We concentrate on companies with established leadership positions and management teams that are proven stewards of capital. We think like owners rather than traders.

Throughout our history, we have successfully invested alongside our clients and built a long-term track record of outperformance while taking less risk.

The result: Longevity, stability, and credibility.

These attributes also define our commitment
to our communities.

We forge abiding ties to charities, causes and events. Each member of our team is encouraged to serve on local boards and participate in community events. For many years, we have run an annual firm-wide campaign to support the United Way of Greater Houston, an organization with deep roots in the region and whose mission is to help support at-risk families and youth.

We also bring an equity and inclusion lens to everything from hiring and staff development to community investment, notably including a long history of developing opportunities for women in finance and investing. As an example, we have been an Executive Sponsor of Cornell University – Johnson College of Business’ MBA Women in Investing Conference. This event is designed to educate MBA students about the rewarding career opportunities available to women in investment management, a field in which women are vastly underrepresented. This conference is a forum for full-time MBA students to gather, network with and learn from investment professionals, hear perspectives on investment careers and related topics and showcase their stock-picking skills in front of judges from sponsoring companies.
